Seven interesting reasons to visit Amsterdam


1. Water Fun
Events on its waterways will mark Amsterdam Water Sensations 2010. Visitors can attend SAIL Amsterdam (19-23 August 2010), join a boat tour or kite surf.
2. Art & Culture
This year and next, top museums ae joining forces in Holland Art Cities, a large-scale art and cultural event. The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is now being expanded.
3. Cooking Classes
The Hotel Okura Amsterdam has been preparing for this month's opening of Taste of Okura, a culinary centre where people can learn how to prepare the Okura chefs' dishes and pair wine and sake with the food.
4.Feel the Heat
The Hotel Pulitzer in Amsterdam has opened its canalside Restaurant Keizersgracht 238, which offers local produce prepared on a lava stone grill.
5. On Two Wheels
The Movenpick Amsterdam City Centre is making it even easier for guests to get around the city. This hotel is to introduce scooter and cycle hire from February.
6. Boutique Beds
Boutique hotel brand CitizenM has opened a new 215-room property in Amsterdam's financial district, featuring artworks, large beds and hi-tech facilities.
7. Take the Train
The train journey-time of 5h5m between London and Amsterdam via Brussels will be reduced to less than four hours with the opeing of the high-speed Brussels-Amsterdam rail link, scheduled for this month.
