Princess Cruises' 700 passenger Royal Princess is to be transferred to P&O Cruises in spring 2011.
P&O said Adonia's public rooms would have a traditional feel and feature wood panelling, leather armchairs and artwork.
There will be a library with more than 4,000 books and a lounge with a wooden dance floor and stage.
The ship will also include regular P&O features such as a Crow's Nest observation lounge with a nautical feel, and Anderson's, a traditional club-style lounge bar.
Itineraries although not finalised will go on sail in spring 2010 but it has been confirmed that the ship will be visiting ports that the bigger ships cannot get into.
